Lonely Giants

Long ago, before man-kind walked the Earth, it was said that the stones could talk. A million voices echoed around the world: their cries resonated in the sky, pleading god for legs to walk, to be able to soothe their wanderlust.  In pity, god parted the skies and picked up a young stone. "Why are you crying, young one?" he said. The little stone wept in god's palm, "It's not fair. I've been cursed to sit still for eternity. The sky is so beautiful and the clouds drift a long its ever-changing spectrum. I want to move with the clouds too. I want to see where they go. The animals just laugh at me for I have no legs to explore or even to chase after them with." Misty-eyed, God returned the young stone to the ground and raised his palms high into the sky. Having sympathy for the stones, he granted them legs. His only condition: a promise to worship and care after the land he's created, and to love all of life as they did without their gift.

Artifacts are loving creatures. They spend their time exploring nature and protecting its resources. Even so, they do have a little spite towards humans for ruining landscapes with industrial housing and other purposes. As a result, most Artifacts go between Neutral Good and Lawful Good, rarely ever going into the Evil side of anything.

Size

Artifacts have heights often ranging between 6'5 - 7'10. They are large creatures.

Age

Artifacts are often described as sentient rocks. Though rocks can live for millions upon millions of years, Artifacts have been put on a timer by god. They last between 2000 - 2100 years.

Guidance and Proficiency

Artifacts are helpful creatures in general. All children of Artifacts take the spell Guidance when they are born, being able to use it 3 times per short rest. They are also proficient in Nature, Religion, and Medicine

Ability Score Increase

You have roamed the Earth for more than a million years now. As a result, take +2 WIS, +1 STR, +1 INT, and +1 CON.

Artifacts additionally add +2 to their WIS saving throws.

Language

You can read, write, and speak Common and Celestial.
