Homebrew Calvaria Species Details

The Calvaria are not born, but created. Not like a construct but by their own accord. The process can only be achieved in one way. Following a very specific very forbidden spell that has to be completed to perfection to achieve. The spell, one created by a sorceress driven to insanity with power, allows one to magically remove ones head and survive. The process of the spell grants a few specific spells that brings the Calvaria closer to the dead, because they are almost dead themselves. Most Calvaria take skulls as prizes and replace their forgotten heads with the trophies.
