Homebrew Argonian Species Details
Argonians or Saxhleel are an oviparous race of reptilian people native to the large and marshy province of Tamriel known as Black Marsh. They can be found in smaller numbers throughout the continent. Argonians are one of the few races completely unrelated to men and mer, who think of themselves as coming from, and ultimately returning to, the Hist.
Enigmatic and intelligent, the Argonians are experts of guerrilla tactics, and their natural abilities suit their swampy homeland. They have developed immunities to diseases that have plagued many would-be explorers in the region, and they are capable of easily exploring underwater locations due to their ability to breathe water.

Age
Argonians mature quickly after hatching from their egg and reach adulthood somewhere around their 10th year. They age at around the same rate as Humans with a maximum life of around 100 years.
Alignment
Due to a long history of discrimination and enslavement by the other peoples of Tamriel, Argonians' are often fierce defenders of the rights of others. Their deep connection to the Hist and to the traditional ways of their society leads to Argonians' being set in their ways. Argonians tend towards Lawful and Good alignments, but even some Argonians fall from grace, or worse turn on their own people.
Size
Argonians are taller and leaner than an average person, standing between 5' 10" and 6'10" tall and weighing between 180 and 225 pounds.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 ft and you have a swimming speed of 40 ft.
Amphibious
Argonians are capable of breathing both air and water.
Reptilian Teeth
Argonians have very sharp reptilian teeth lining their mouths, which, if they are unarmed, can be used as an effective weapon. You may use your teeth as a natural weapon which you are proficient with. As part of an attack action you may replace one or more of your available attacks with a Bite attack dealing 1d4 + your Strength modifier damage.
Hist Born
Your connection to the Hist trees allows you to communicate with the plant life of Tamriel. You gain the following benefits at their specified levels.
- At 1st level you have a limited ability to speak with plant life. You can communicate simple ideas and questions to plants and in return receive a general idea of the plants response.
- At 3rd level your connection with the plants of Tamriel deepens. You can now share your consciousness with a plant and receive a short vision as a response. These visions are visible only to you and usually are in the form of a glimpse of events that transpired around the plant you are speaking to.
- At 5th level you can cast the spell Speak with Plants as a ritual. To do so you must spend 10 minutes communing with the plant. Once you have cast this spell using this feature you can not do so again until you have completed a Long Rest.
Argonian Immunity
The Argonian's connection to the Hist and their reptilian constitution have granted them immunity to Disease.
