Homebrew Centaur PC Species Details
Centaurs have the upper bodies, down to the waist, of muscular humans, displaying all the human variety of skin tones and features. Their ears are
slightly pointed, but their faces are wider and squarer than those of elves. Below the waist, they have the bodies of horses, with a similar
range of coloration- from various shades of chestnut or bay to dappled or even zebra-like striped patterns. Most centaurs style their hair and their
tails in a similar way. Selesnya centaurs favour long, flowing hair. Gruul centaurs cut their hair in rough, spiky styles.
Reclusive wanderers and omen readers of the wild. Centaurs avoid conflict but fight fiercely when pressed. They roam the wilderness, keeping far from borders, laws, and the company of other creatures
Wilderness Nomads. Centaur tribes range across lands with mild to hot climates, where a centaur requires light furs or oiled skins to deal with inclement weather. They are hunger-gatherers and rarely build shelters or even use tents.
Centaur migrations span continents and take decades to repeat, so that a centaur tribe might not retread the same path for generations. These long-ranging patterns can lead to conflict when centaurs encounter settlements of other creatures built along their traditional routes
Reluctant Settlers. A centaur that cant keep pace with the rest of its tribe is left behind. Some such centaurs vanish into the wilderness and are never seen again. Those that can bear the loss of their tribe might take up residence among other races. Frontier settlements value the nature knowledge of their centaur residents. Many such communities owe their survival to the insight and acumen of a centaur.
Despite their reclusive nature, centaurs trade with elves and with the caravans of other benevolent humanoids they meet during their wanderings. A reader might save the life of a wounded or elderly centaur unfit for long travel, escorting it to a settlement where it can peacefully live out the rest of its days.

Charge
If the centaur moves at least 30 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a melee attack on the same turn, the target takes and extra 2d6 damage
Natural Cavalry
You may serve as a mount for a single creature your size or smaller, when you do so you always act independently of your rider. You also count as mounted at all times for the purposes of equipment.
Hooves of Fury
Your hooves are natural weapons, which you are proficient in and can use to make unarmed strikes with either your two front hooves or your two back hooves. If you hit with them, they do 2d6 + Strength modifier in bludgeoning damage.
If a successful attack is made, the target must make a DC 10 Strength saving throw or be pushed back 5 ft and knocked prone. Movement in this way does not provoke any attacks of opportunity.
Darkvision
Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 40 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Equine Build
You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push or drag. In addition, any climb that requires hands and feet is especially difficult for you because of your equine legs. When you make such a climb, each foot of movement costs you 4 extra feet, instead of the normal 1 extra foot.
Equine Weakness
While there are surely advantages to being a hybrid, there are a number of ways in which the horse half of a centaur is a detriment to the humanoid half.
- As you lack the lower body of a humanoid, you are unable to wear humanoid armor below the belt (ex: leggings, greaves, or boots).
- Due to the larger size of your lower half, any fall damage taken is doubled.
- Unless your hooves are in some way obscured, you have disadvantage on Stealth checks when walking on hard surfaces, such as stone, brick, or glass.
