Homebrew Cenjei Species Details

I understand your pain. When you feel it, understand that I feel it as well. Let down your walls, and let me understand more. I wish only to help.

—Jaya Hymn, cenjei therapist

Cenjei are only as ancient as the humans, and their origin is unknown. They have the ability to hear the emotions of others, and use this to understand many. Some find the masklike face of the cenjei unnerving, but they seldom take notice.

Cenjei Appearance

Cenjei are rather human in appearance. Their skin and body sized vary identically. However, rather than a detailed face similar to most other races, cenjei's faces resemble porcelain or smooth wood masks. The material feels no different than normal flesh, and can still express emotions and move like any other face.

Empathic Nature

Cenjei have the ability to sense the emotions of other intelligent creatures. Some use this trait to help others, to better understand and connect with them. Others use this to figure out the emotional weaknesses of a creature, learning how to hurt them more and more.
