Homebrew Astarian Species Details
I've seen it! Wandering spirits raining down from the stars. It was akin to ghosts raining down from the heavens
They tend to look very humanoid and sometimes visually indistinguishable from humans, apart from brightly colored gases that wisp and flow around them from time to time. Unlike humans however they do not need to consume food and instead gain energy from radiation. They tend to forget things easily, and often live calm and relaxing lives free of stress. That being said, despite living what they see as calm and relaxing, their lifestyles are very fast-paced.
More than anything, they crave excitement and their fool-hardy nature has led too many to an early grave.
Due to the atmosphere on their planet which is extremely high in radiation content, they are always glowing in bright neon colors as their body is releasing this energy for the high-performance activities they often partake in. On other lands without the radiation they are always in their less prominent organic form where they use less energy and conserve more stamina. They can switch to their neon form but doing so leaves them extremely tired and overturning their radiation content can lead to death.
When asleep these beings often begin to turn slightly gaseous and float about a foot upwards.
Due to the volatile nature of their bodies composition, they gain energy from most plasma, but are easily susceptible to the necrotic nature of the dark arts.
When in their neon forms, each one possesses a distinct emblem on their face in the place of facial features. They use this to tell one another apart in their native land.
When they expend too much energy they enter a stasis period that is akin to a coma, and they float into the edge of their planet's orbit where they absorb heaps of radiation. By chance, they could float out of orbit and after sedimenting dust particles, crash unto other planets as meteors.
Astarian Traits
They are light-headed and forgetful. Often snapping in and out of focus. They do not care about trivialities or philosophy and are often thrill-seekers living for excitement.Neon Blaze
The starborn shifts their phase into that of their neon form native to their home planet. They are able to emit much stronger blasts of radioactive energy and expel a destructive aura around them. This form is short-lived however as by expelling too much of their radiation content they will soon begin damaging themselves. This move can only be used once until a short or long rest is taken.

Age
Starborn often do not live long due to their volatile nature. An infant starborn gains a sufficient degree of cognitive function, they become adolescent at around 17 years and is a full fledged adult by age 20, by 50 years they die. Although they most often die due to their own recklessness, if not for that, they would be able to maintain their forms till around 70 years of age. When starborn die they slowly combust and their radiation spreads throughout the cosmos. Due to them being spread out through multiple planets, they do not have a solid sense of time.

Due to their thrill-seeking nature, they tend to be chaotic neutral.
Size
Astarians vary widely in height and build, from barely 5 feet to well over 6 feet tall. Regardless of your position in that range, your size is Medium.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet. It doubles when Neon Blaze is active.
Languages
On their native planet their language sounds like a low-pitched electrical buzzing. It's known as Strix. Apparently, if one is able to hear the low-frequency sounds properly, it sounds nearly identical to latin.
