Homebrew Black ork Species Details

These large brutes hail from deep under the ground, where orcs waged war on peaceful, dwelling creatures.One fateful day, an orc shaman tried to mix orcs with a fungal creature in the hopes of creating a half orc half fungal hybrid. The experiments where a failure, as they bore only a highly aggressive, highly stupid orc. These orcs where abandoned and forced to live in the underground, fending for themselves. After Millennia, the first intelligent black orc (as they had become known as) was conceived. This intelligent black orc quickly became the strongest and most respected black orc, bringing all of the blacks orcs together in one area and united them under the clan name of Ullragaa (meaning strong in their developing language). This black orc became known as Face Rippa by those around him due to his cruel executions. Face Rippa then felt as though the black orcs deserved something more, and mobilised them to fight above ground against those who had been so quick to discard them.

Height: Due to their half orc-half fungal nature, black orcs are incredibly large, with their average adult height being around 7-9 feet tall. However, after each fight, a black orc grows an extra foot worth of muscle to compensate for any damage done to their bodies.

Skin: A black orcs skin is hard to the touch due to all the years they have spent physically mastering themselves, granting them an extra +1 to armour class.

Racial bonuses: +2 to strength and constitution, but -1 to intelligence and wisdom.

Berserker: Whenever a black orc would take damage that would reduce it below 1 hit points in a single hit, they are instead reduced to 1 hit point. Furthermore when this ability activates, black orcs gain an extra 1d4 damage bonus. This increases to 2d4 at 5th level and again at 9th level to 3d4.
