Homebrew Warforged - Heavy Model : The Juggernaut Species Details

You’re are a war machine built for close combat and raw Strength of might. The juggernaut warforged stand between 6 feet and 7 feet in height and can weigh up to 450 pounds.

You count as two size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

The warforged were built for the Last War. While the first warforged were mindless Golems, House Cannith devoted vast resources to improving these custom made soldiers. An unexpected accident produced sapient soldiers, This giving rise to what some have only grudgingly accepted as a new species. Warforged are made from wood/roots and metal, they can feel emotion. Built as weapons, Currently  they must now try and find a purpose beyond war. A warforged can be a steadfast ally, a cold-hearted killer, or a visionary in search of meaning.

Living Steel and Stone

Warforged are formed from a blend of organic and inorganic materials. Root-like cords infused with alchemical fluids serve as their muscles, wrapped around a framework of steel, dark wood, or stone. Armored plates form a protective outer shell. Warforged share a common facial design, with a hinged jaw and crystal eyes. Beyond these common elements of warforged design, the precise materials and build of a warforged vary based on the purpose for which it was designed.

Although they were manufactured, warforged are living humanoids. Resting, healing magic, and the Medicine skill all provide the same benefits to warforged that they do to other humanoids.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 2, increase by 1 to one  ability score of your choice increases by 1, Strength increased by 1.

Age

A typical warforged is between two and thirty years old. The maximum warforged lifespan remains a mystery; so far, warforged have shown no signs of deterioration due to age. You are immune to magical aging effects.

Alignment

Most warforged take comfort in order and discipline, tending toward law and neutrality. But some have absorbed the morality, or lack thereof, of the beings with which they served.

Size

Your size is Medium. To set your height and weight randomly, start with rolling a size modifier:

Size modifier = 2d6

Height = 5 feet + 10 inches + your size modifier in inches

Weight in pounds = 270 + (4 × your size modifier)

Constructed Resilience

You were created to have remarkable fortitude, represented by the following benefits:

  • You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage.
  • You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
  • You are immune to disease.
  • You don’t need to sleep, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Sentry’s Rest

When you take a short rest, you must spend at least four hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn’t render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.

Integrated Protection

  • Due to being made of Metal and wood reinforced; Base armor is same as plate AC 18+ Con modifier on heavy armor, Integrated armor, you have a disadvantage on stealth. As a warforged, your armor is a part of you. Your skin is metal or leather, physically bonded to the root-like tendrils that serve as your muscles. While it is possible for you to change your armor, very few warforged actually ever do this. The process is similar to a human peeling off their skin; while it’s not dangerous for the warforged, it’s a disturbing and uncomfortable experience. As an adventuring warforged, it’s an important ability to have, as it allows you to improve your defense and to make use of magical armor. But be aware of the weight of what you’re doing when you exchange your armor.

Once you have integrated a suit of armor, it cannot be removed against your will. However, you are still considered to be wearing armor for purposes of the Defense Fighting Style or other feats and benefits that relate to armor. Likewise, integrated armor can be targeted by magical effects. your integrated armor and protects it from hostile magic.

Your body has built-in defensive layers, which can be enhanced with armor:

you have advantage on Strength saving throws and Strength (Athletics) checks to resist being knocked prone or moved against your will.
    • While it’s incorporated into your body, your armor can’t be targeted by any effect (such as heat metal or the antennae of a rust monster) against your will.

Specialized Design - Integrated Tool build in

Just as a warforged can bond to armor or weapons, it’s possible to attach a tool to its body.
There are two ways to do this. The first is acquire as an integrated tool.
As presented in chapter 7, this is a common magic item that requires attunement; through attuning the tool, you bond it to your body. An alternative is to take the Envoy Specialist feat found in chapter 6. This gives you the benefit of an attached tool without requiring attunement. Built in weapon: retractable spiked knuckles on each hand, Retractable finger Claws or forearm blades 1 on each arm that comes out the side of the forearm choose 1 of these weapons, the damage regardless is d4+ STR.

Unlike an arm blade, an integrated tool represents more than just having a hammer attached to your hand. Most tools don’t represent one single object, but rather, a range of smaller items. How does this manifest with you? If you have a set of integrated thieves’ tools, do you use your fingers as lock picks? Or do you draw the various tools you need out of compartments in your forearm? If you have an integrated instrument, is it built into your arm or your torso? Whatever you decide, remember that you have to have a hand free in order to make use of an integrated tool.

You can say that your bagpipes are built into your chest, but you still need a free hand to play them. An integrated tool can be an interesting part of a character concept that reflects the purpose a warforged was built for.
