Homebrew Cancion Species Details

*Origin: The Cancion is one of the most recent races to be made in Ainsval by a group of wizards and a "Crustacean Enthusiasts" group who asked for a way to become more like their favorite critter, The Devil Crab. The Wizards were fine doing this since getting paid for their services (and an opportunity to summon Devil Crabs) was worthwhile enough to transform the customers into bizarre versions of themselves. As such Cancion are an artificial fusion of humanoid and Devil Crabs that results in a strong but limber race.

*Biology: Seeing as Cancion are part beasts from the depths of Baator, they are incredibly durable and resistant to heat due to their thick carapace. Most don't look too different from their original mortal half though their skin is replaced with a thick segmented shell that they have to shed every six months. They're incredibly strong and regenerate their limbs over the course of a week without magical assistance. You can always tell when one is near since they always smell of freshly cooked crab.

*Society: Cancion don't have their own settlements but they do mostly reside in their birthplace of Proodos. Oftentimes they seem a bit fanatical about their work or life and enjoy the simple pleasures as they come. Often loud and full of life regardless of the situation. Some love nothing more than a good brawl since losing a limb is at worst a mild inconvenience, leading to a small group living in Ku Koko.

(note this is the lore for how they are in their original world, you may adapt it as you please for your own world)
