Homebrew Croc'a'Rock Species Details
.If you're brining one of these scaled beast on an adventure, i would suggest one that isn't found in the while as they wouldn't listen to you, but bring a more civilized one, big strong reliable and a great shield. But remember still to bring a large meal as they are quite the high maintanance, tho most can hunt for themselves.
In nearly any aspect Croc'a'Rocks are like Lizardfolk in that physical shape but much larger, if you took a Lizardman and scaled him to a Goliath you would have a Croc'a'Rock. While Lizardfolk are qucik and nimble the Croc'a'Rocks are have gone for just being a force of nature, hardening their scales and becoming much more muscular. The mindset of a Croc'a'Rock is nothing alike the lizardfolk in that they aren't as barbaric if they are raised not to be, but if not they will go the path of the Lizardfolk becoming hunters without emotion through their survival instinct.
Instintual takeover
If a Croc'a'Rock is left to fend for itself it will turn to its instincts and become much more like the lizardfolk, just larger n stronger and take teratory, becoming a great thread to outsiders. They can survive on pure instinct and will if need be will turn to these instincts even if they are raised well if survival calls for it,. tho well raised Croc'a'Rocks can be snapped back to who they were because of they way they were raised but the longer time before they are snapped back the more they will lose of themselves and become more animalistic and may need to be rehabilitated into sociaty again.
Croc'a'Rocks are opportunistic hunters and will take of opponents that are larger and stronger than themselves, even if they have a fair chance of survual they will try to consume it to become stronger and larger themselves.
Utility and Survival
Croc'a'Rock doesn't care if something is well made or extreamly sharp. All weapons will dull by time, a sharp sword serves as a good purpose as a dull. As long as it can be used it will be used. favored weapons of Croc'a'Rocks are strongly made weapons that can be abused a lot. If do they come along a new weapon they would be interested in will try the new and old on a big object and choose the stronger and more reliable one.
Croc'a'Rocks live in the now, so they don't plan to far ahead, most can make plans but don't think thoughter than a day ahead.
Hapless Soft Ones
At their core, Croc'a'Rocks view other humanoids with an indifference verging on pity. Born into the world lacking stouts scales, stronger muscles and jaws, it’s a wonder they have managed to survive for so long. The typical human would barely make it through a day in the swamps.
Still, if other creatures prove useful or have a bonds to Croc'a'Rock, those creatures can trigger a protective response made all the stronger by their apparent weakness. The Croc'a'Rocks assess such beings as hatchlings, young ones incapable of protecting themselves but who might prove useful in the future if they receive care.
