Homebrew Bordrid Species Details
Bordrids are a race raised in the Faedark, just on the outskirts of the Fumorian cities. They live as nomadic humanoids that are known mostly for the fact that...Not much is known about them. Few tend to be this being due to the difficulties that comes to being in groups, but are a foe to reckon with when in the right party.
Bordrids are invisible. In fact, they can even roll Deception checks to see if they displace the water around them or not. This race is cursed with an eternal invisibility spell that forever makes their kin and children invisible, but will not affect clothing or others. Only those who are blood-related can be invisible, or see another Bordrid. (Yes, Bordrids see each other, and they can see themselves.)
Bordrids can re-purpose items of invisibility, such as Cloak of Invisibility into a cloak of VISIbility. This allows characters to have items that can see items and creatures that are normally invisible (for as long as the item's duration. Cloak of invisibility will still only last 2 hours, re-purposed or not). Bordrids can also have a pack that allows them to hold a pack 100% as invisible as them, so long as it is under 50-100 lbs. (roll a D20 to see what weight it has. 1 for 50, 20 for 100)
Bordrids have the following going for this race:
-Advantage on stealth throws (must roll once for a "guard up" check to see if anything in the environment makes the player a potential target in the area, to raise alert to the area)
-Can reroll a stealth-based throw if on a natural 1 (Deception, stealth, sleight of hand, survival, etc.)
-Must roll before making the character if it is mute, due to the curse. if 1-9, the character is a mute and must use alternative communication to talk to their teammates. 11-20 will not -make them mutes, and are normal in terms of voice if optional.
-Bordrids can be easily sensed by smell, and cannot roll initiative on animals that sense them before the battle.
- Bordrid can have a +1 to any stat they choose (but only 1 per 5 levels. Meaning a total of 4 points, [2 maximum for stacking points])
- This race must make their own Bordrid Backpack in order to use one due to it's usage for other players. Bordrid packs can only be worn by other Bordrids to gain the advantage of turning invisible when on a person's back. A Bordrid Backpack will cost 75 gold to create, along with a roll of D20 to see it's weight from 50-100 before turning visible when going over. 50 is lowest as a 1 on the roll, and the highest at 100 being as a 20 on the roll.
-Bordrids are nocturnal, and will gain disadvantage over strength checks, intelligence checks, and wisdom checks in the daytime. All speeds are doubled in the dark, at night, or in caves. All negatives are removed if placed in a spell "Spell of Darkness". (at night, walking speed is 45, speed burrowing is 15, speed climbing is 20, jumping...is still 5, and swimming is 20. AT NIGHT)
Bordrid Traits
This race is 100% invisible, but when seen by sense or by visibility items (reversed invisibility items re-purposed by this species), they will appear Elvish, Human, or as a Half-Elf.Comments

Posted Aug 8, 2018I would like to point out that this is my first race ever made, and that I have NO idea what I was doing this entire time. I like to play as invisible beings when playing games, so I wanted to make a race that was completely invisible. And I can see it now, no, this isn't a race based on Toru Hagakure fans. Though it may look like it, I ironically have never seen the show where that character came from, My Hero Academia. I just like being invisible.
