Homebrew Azazen (Human/Tiefling Hybrid) Species Details

Tieflings had it rough enough going through their lives with people judging them and calling them evil at every passing conversation and glance simply for their appearance. However, it was not until the arrival of a new "demon" in the world. The Azazen are the unholy hybrid of what happens when a tiefling and humankind fall in love. The Azazen are fierce with horn growing out of their scalps like hair and morals to match this satanic look. They seem to revel when people are afeared of them and instead of anxiety filling their veins it is instead replaced with joy when any negative emotions are pointed towards them.

Decisively Demonic

The Azazen are the epitome of what a demon should look like with no fear in there eyes or hearts. They have thicker tails than their tiefling bretheren and are more openly accepted into the nine hells than the tieflings as well being viewed by the them as a form of perfect beings. Many Azazen also have hair and facial hair that is made of horns or other keratinous projections from their skin. These horns appear in all shades of gray from the purest white like snow to a deep black the likes the abyssal plane could not even rival. The mouths of this race also contain many pointed teeth like that of a shark leading to any dirty fights that they are in typically to end quickly.

Young, Strong and Successful

Azazen despite being one of the newest races to the world and inherently selfish have still been able to raise up to great heights in all matter of life. In the Nine Hells they are widely regarded as "gods" or deific beings thus putting them as higher priests and officials in the structure. In the overworld though they are not looked on in good light many of them have still carved out followings from the lesser liked beings of the world such as sahuagin, goblins, kobolds, and trolls. Their distinct likeness to other demonic creatures have also unfortunately garnered many to hunt them for their heads as payment for "ridding the world of evil".

Undisputed Dread

Despite them being part of the demon world many times Azazen will come to the material plane in order to cause chaos and destruction for fun. That is why they instill so much fear on the local populace for wherever there is one roaming about with weapons and armor there tend to be a lot more doing much along the same lines. If you see one by themselves make sure to approach with caution and care.

The reason many of the Azazen decide to attack in such a fashion is for the main reason that they enjoy seeing others cower before them. Azazen are evil beings and have been taught evil ways of the underworld thus they only know one thing and one thing only, chaos.

The Azazen are the newest race to the Nine Hells and thus they have many traits similar to Tieflings and other demon kind.

Ability Score Increase

Age

Azazen reach maturiy at about 20 years old and can live to be 100 or even in rare cases up to 150 years.

Alignment

Most Azazen being raised in hell end up with evil alignments, however not all are strictly evil by nature. Evil or not, an independent nature inclines many azazen toward a chaotic alignment.

Size

Azazen are about the same size and build as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Demonic Resistance

You have resistance to fire, cold, and lightning damage types.

Infernal Legacy

You know the thaumaturgy cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the hellish rebuke spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast the darkness spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

You can speak, read, and write Common and Infernal.
