Homebrew Curse of the Chicken Species Details
You are a cursed creature, perhaps you reneged on a deal with fey, perhaps you crossed paths with a sorcerer in a fowl mood, maybe you took an axe to the wrong mystic tree, but you will be a chicken (specifically a hen) until you find a way to resolve this curse, or until the natural age for death of your original race, whichever comes first.
Curse of the Chicken Traits
Egglayer, Flight, Magic of the Cursed, Forethought, Static, "It's just a wee chicken", TinyEgglayer
Once per long rest your character must lay one egg in private (being unseen by other intelligent creatures constitutes privacy), to do so requires your character be well fed (must have consumed at least one healthy meal that day), failing to lay an egg will result in your max health being reduced to 75% in the period directly following a lack of egg laying. These eggs are inedible to you, but until dawn of the following day if consumed by another creature will restore 1d4 - 1 hitpoints. This bonus increases to 2d4 at level 5, 3d4 at level 11, and 4d4 at level 17.
You find the consumption of eggs to be unyieldingly nauseating. In the presence of a creature eating eggs you have disadvantage on all charisma and constitution checks and saves. If a creature in your line of sight eats an egg during combat you have disadvantage on attack rolls for that round.
Flight
You can fly at a speed of 15 feet, but must end the turn within 5 feet of the ground or begin to fall, taking fall damage where appropriate. You cannot ascend in flight more than 15 feet from a solid surface. You cannot fly while wearing medium or heavy armor.
The Magic of The Cursed.
At 3rd level, once per long rest you gain the ability to cast the spell feather fall. (Reaction - When you or a creature within 60 feet of you falls Choose up to five Falling creatures within range. A Falling creature's rate of descent slows to 60 feet per round until the spell ends. If the creature lands before the spell ends, it takes no Falling damage and can land on its feet, and the spell ends for that creature.)
Forethought
Your past mistakes (perhaps including the one that has resulted in your becoming a chicken) gives you an instinctual forethought. +1 to your WIsdom and Charisma scores.
Static
The powerful magic of your curse interferes with lesser magics that attempt to impair you. You have advantage on saving throws against magic that would impair your movement or senses, and against being magically feared. Additionally any illusion magic that attempts to impose a new image onto your appearance, portray you as anything other than a hen, or obscure your appearance without making you vanish completely instantly fails.
Age, Language, Alignment
As this is not your original form, these elements must all be selected from a different playable race to this one. All three must be selected from the same race.
"It's just a wee Chicken"
In areas where you are unknown, you can convince those around you that you are a simple beast as long as you take no action that would suggest otherwise (e.g. talking, brandishing a sword). A creature that makes a successful dc 15 wisdom check can determine that you are not "just a wee chicken".
Tiny
Your small size and fast feet make you naturally difficult to hit, +1 to AC
