Homebrew Wart's Hog (Hogmen) Species Details

“I have stumbled upon a people very different from our own. These Hogmen, as I like to call them, are stout, ferocious, and produce horrible amounts of phlegm. They stand at around a shoulder's height and dance around fires at night. Their tusks and the way they busk may turn the bravest of men away right then.”

Lean and Mean
Hogmen usually stand between 4 and 5 feet tall with both males and females being about equal in size. The Brood Mother is an exception to this rule being usually 6-7 feet in height. Hogmen also tend to weigh as much or a little under what an average sized human weighs.

The color of a Hogman's hair is rather thin and sparse, with the exception of the thick bed of hair running down the back, but is usually around the same gray tone as their skin. They also have small tusks that protrude from their mouths.

Short Lives
Hogmen have relatively short lives as they only live to be around 60 years old. They normally reach physical maturity at around 12 years old.

Tribal Warriors
Hogmen are part of small tribes called Broods situated in humid forests, swamps, or possibly even around bodies of water in arid grasslands where they can bathe in the mud. The tribes are usually somewhat small so the hierarchy is fairly simple. The largest female hog, the Brood Mother, acts as the Mother to the entire tribe with all of the males as her exclusive mates.

The Hogmen are also fairly warlike showing immense amounts of aggression towards any outsiders intruding on their land without an invitation. They however do not make any attempts to expand their own territory or leave it without reason. Hogman tribes do welcome other Hogmen into their lands though regardless of their origin.

Loose Control
Hogmen are typically allowed to come and go from their tribes as they please to pursue whatever interests them. Typically Hogmen are reclusive in nature but a curious Hogman may venture outside of his territory into the cities and towns of the world, making them a rare but not impossible sight to see.
