Homebrew Day Walker Species Details

You have the blood of the undead flowing within you. Whether by choice or chance you took the curse of vampirism upon yourself. But while being turned the process stopped midway, causing you to become a strange combination of mortal and vampire. A Day Walker.

Day Walker Traits

Your vampiric blood grants you multiple boons, but it all comes at a cost.

Ability Score Increase

As a Day Walker vampire your strength, dexterity, and charisma all increase by 1.

Charming Demeanor

Your vampiric blood gives you the ability to beguile any humanoid you meet. You can cast charm person a number of times equal to your charisma modifier, recharging every dawn. The spell save DC is 14.

The Downsides

Light and Dark: You gain Resistance to necrotic damage but vulnerability to radiant damage.

Sunlight Sensitivity: Due to your vampiric blood you are very sensitive to the suns rays. You have disadvantage on attack rolls and on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight when you, the target of your attack, or whatever you are trying to perceive is in direct sunlight.

Prolonged Fasting: if you have not fed within at least the past tenday you become far weaker. You permanently gain the poisoned condition as well as having disadvantage on all saving throws. Also, if any blood is spilt within 30 feet of you, you must make a DC 14 wisdom saving throw or go berserk. On each of your turns while berserk you must use your movement to get as close to the nearest humanoid as possible and use your feed ability on them. Once you successfully feed you no longer have the effects of Prolonged Fasting until another tenday passes without feeding.

Feed

In order to remain sane you must drink the blood of a living humanoid at least once every tenday. If you neglect this need you begin to suffer dire consequences. As an bonus action while grappling a humanoid you can make an bite attack against the target using either strength or dexterity. If you hit, you bite into them dealing the 1d4 piercing damage and healing a number of hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. You can use this feature once, recharging after a short or long rest.
