Homebrew Draconi Species Details
Malivandus is home to many different races of people. One of which being the Draconi people, present in every aspect of malivandian culture, including but not limited to the very ruling family. These lovely folk are decent from the union between humans and dragons with the power to shift into a human form. They’ve been around for ages and have only intermingled into human society even more since their origin.
This race is diverse in features and abilities. They look like elves primarily. Their coloring is based on their dragon ancestry; those with elemental dragons in their bloodline have coloring to match and have an affinity to that type of magic, while others who had normal or magic type draconic ancestry have more human skin tones. they have scales on their arms and it varies in how much they have. they are shiny and usually of a metallic color based on what territory they originate from. Some have horns and some have wings, while others have tails. common features shared among them are: claws, fangs, pointy ears, and catlike eyes
no matter how much draconian blood all have the eyes and fangs. You can tell a draconis type by the color of their eyes, listed here: those with any color that glows are magic, red and gold are fire, rich blues are water, light blues or steely gray are weather, metallics are earth, rich greens are nature, neon yellow are electric earthy tones are normal type.
It has been noted that many draconi can shift in between multiple variations of their form and shape
Draconi entry 2
Draconi Inheritance:
Every draconi matures around the age of 20, this is when attributes such as scales, horns, wings, and tails grow in and elemental magic reveals itself to the draconi. Eye colors change, and in some cases so does skin color. It is a very painful process that can last from a few days to a few weeks. During this time is usually when a draconi finds their mate.
Draconi Mates:
During their first full transformation a draconi usually will go “feral” till they find their “soulmate” whose presence helps dull the pain of their ordeal (Note: 1) not every soulbond is romantic, many bonds actually are platonic 2)draconi find their soulmates among other sentient species outside of their own it is not uncommon to find see mismatched pairs may it be with a half-orc, elf or human).
When draconi mate, they mate for life. Many instances of draconi dying after a mates death has been recorded, much like actual dragons. Draconi society doesn’t necessarily believe in blood purity as they themselves are descendants of the half breeds of freaky dragons and very, very brave humans. Although the royal class has been known to marry outside of mate bonds to strengthen alliances, the custom was abandoned after the lutair tragedy hundreds of years ago.
Draconi Traits
With a plethora of decendance traits and multiple lineage, your race is bountiful wiith racial traits.Elemental Magic
You can use your action to create a destructive energy. Your draconic ancestry determines the size, shape, and damage type of the power. When you use your weapon, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a saving throw, the type of which is determined by your draconic ancestry. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your breath weapon, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest
Darkvision
Thanks to your draconic heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray

Charisma increases by 2, Wisdom by 1
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.
Damage resistance
You have resistance to the damage type associated with your draconic ancestry.
Talons
Your talons are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike
Draconic Ancestry
You have draconic ancestry. Choose one type of dragon from the Draconic Ancestry table. Your breath weapon and damage resistance are determined by the dragon type, as shown in the table.
