Homebrew Aldoran Atlantians Species Details

Once on a section of land to the south of the mainland, the great city of Atlata stood proud. Named after the foreseen champion of the seas Atluata, it was home to the first civilization; The Atlantians. Whereas Aldora had cultivated as nomads, the Atlantians had developed the techniques to build their empire and as they began to spread throughout Aldora, they shared it with the inhabitants and many believe their meddling is what pushed the races of the mainland to develop their own society. Although after centuries of existence, they just disappeared. The last Atlantian being a man named Tyrad.

Big-headed and Wise

Atlantians come in many different forms but all share a few traits in common. All have elongated heads and hooped earlobes. They are always taller than most races by a fair amount and will normally have long arms. The most common hair colours were black, red, and white paired with blue, red or black eyes. The race would primarily wear no more than a loincloth with their tribe leader being honoured enough to wear a gown. Their skin is normally pale white or pale blue.

Wisdom of the Precursors

The Atlantians have existed for far longer than even the dragons and due to their time in the world, they have been able to create ways to naturally extend their lifespan with most living around 450 years but some living as long as 600 years. They range between 6'9" and 7'9" and come in between 150 and 200lbs. Atlantians will interact with other races as if they are equals but the more frustrated they get when teaching their secrets, the more they will treat them as inferior beings. Atlantians, although secretly believing themselves superior, believe that all beings deserve access to their technology and knowledge to help progress their own development and would attempt to as best as they can, even going as far as to build monasteries and settlements on the mainland.

Due to evolving near the ocean, the Atlantians developed ways to hold their breath for a prolonged time. So by absorbing oxygen through your skin, you can breathe underwater for up to 1 hour. Once you’ve reached that limit, you can’t use this trait again until you finish a long rest.

Honed Eyesight

Due to centuries of developing techniques to improve eyesight, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
