Homebrew Abishling Species Details

"Dragonborns also have those among them who are shunned and cast away from their clans. Those being the ones like Tieflings- cursed with the devil's blood."

The true origin of the Abishling are unknown, as there are numerous different sources pointing to where this cursed species came from. One theory is simply the bonding of the Abishai and mortals. Another is that it was a curse bestowed upon a clan of metallic dragonborn by Tiamat. Regardless of their source, they still linger around the world today. Some prefer to group together in their own clans, though the species' rarity can make this difficult. Most, like the Tieflings that share their curse, live on the very fringes of society in an attempt to survive.

Abishling Traits

As an Abishling, you have access to the following traits.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2.

Age

The Abishai age and mature at the same rate as Humans, but live to be around 200 years of age.

Alignment

Society's view on the Abishlings often force them into situations where they are forced to fend for themselves, leading many to lean towards a Neutral alignment.

Size

Abishai often grow to be decently sized due to the mix of draconic blood within them, with 5'6" to 7 feet being the norm. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Flight

You have a flying speed of 30 feet.

Claws

Your claws are natural weapons, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Tiamat's Heritage

Due to the curse of your blood, you are linked to one of the 5 chromatic dragon types a resistance depending on the color.
