Homebrew Lepalï (Mothfolk) Species Details
Moth Kind
The Lepalï (Mothfolk) are a race of humanoid moth-like people, characterized mainly by the presence of a second smaller pair of arms, a layer of fur covering parts of their body, a pair of moth wings, and two antennas protruding from their forehead. It is said that this moth-folk was the product of the Moon goddess feeling underappreciated and unloved. The Earth Goddess, who created them as a gift to populate the nights of the material plane and love the moon goddess unconditionally.
Hidden Worlds
Lepalï (Mothfolk) are a mysterious, reclusive race found in the lost reaches of the world, seldom seen in more civilized places. Mothfolk as a whole struggle with fear of danger. Their civilizations are often tucked away and secretive locations, so that they may live free of Danger. These civilizations live intertwined with nature and nature magic, and they value nature to keep them safe. Even protected fear can get the better of them, so their Elders teach meditative techniques to calm their nerves and keep themselves safe. Mothfolk Only ventures outside of the safety of their homes for religious rituals or due to banishment. Their home is the only thing that they've ever known and it is a fate worse than death to be an outcast permanently.
Moth Development
Unlike most other common races, mothfolk do not develop as the same creature from when they are born. Mothfolk begin their lives as larvae after almost five years, the mother helps them prepare cocoons for metamorphosis. The larvae stay in the Cocoon for just over nine months, at which point they finally emerge as moths.

Your Antennae grant you higher senses and allow you to communicate with other Lepalï (Mothfolk) nonverbally by touching your antennae together. It's also a way to say "I love you" between friends and families (can be romantic too)
Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 1. And your Wisdom Score increases by 1.
Moth Magic
Your fey ancestry gives you inherent magic that plays to your moth nature. You know the Dancing Lights cantrip. You can also cast either the Guiding Bolt or Faerie Fire spell and speak to animals once per long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Distracted Eyes
You have advantage on Perception checks to notice any form of light that stands out in the expanse of the dark.
Fey Ancestry
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Darkvision
Thanks to your insectoid & fey heritage, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.
Extra Arms
Lepalï (Mothfolk) will always have an extra set of arms, for a total of 4. These function like normal arms, able to perform somatic components of spells, interact with items, and even wield equipment. However, when carrying equipment, only two of your arms may treat your equipment as "equipped." The equipment in your other arms is simply carried, not equipped. You decide which two arms will be active that round at the start of your turn, and this decision lasts until the start of your next turn. They also have sharper claws that are normally used for digging or holding on to trees but can be used for self-defense too.
Speed
You have a base walking speed of 30 feet. You have a base flying speed of 40 feet. You can fly for a maximum of 1-hour nonstop or 3 hours with breaks in between. Once you reached your limit you cannot fly again until you take a short or long rest. Roll for Constitution once your time is up to glide to the ground gracefully or fall....painfully. Note: Lepali can train their wings to fly for long-distance
Age
You tend to live to the same age as gnomes but mature in a linear pattern, you have a life span of 450 years.
Alignment
Lepalï (Mothfolk) are peaceful people and secluded from most societies. Their curious nature tends to get any of them into some trouble but it is usually unintentional. They hold pride in keeping an open mind and will go through with crazy plans to keep themselves safe. Lepalï (Mothfolk) will most often fall between Neutral or Chaotic Good. If one is religious, they will worship the moon goddess.
Size
Lepalï (Mothfolk) vary quite a bit in size, being anywhere between 5'5" to 6'5". Different subraces of Lepalï (Mothfolk) tend to have an average height among them. You are considered medium.
