A Diopsid can produce its own light equivalent to a torch using it's natural ability to communicate with bioluminescence. Despite their reliance on light to communicate, Diopsids have Darkvision out to 60 feet. Diopsids can also slow-fall with their largely-vestigial wings and use their vestigial third and fourth arms to wield larger-than-normal weapons.

Diopsids have four arms, two primary and two vestigial. The primary arms work as any two-armed creature's might. The vestigial arms are emaciated and non-dexterous, making them unsuited for typical uses. Diopsids can wield versatile weapons as though they were one-handed, including for the purpose of dual wielding. When not otherwise occupied, these can be used to grab small items as a bonus action, or hold small items such as magical foci and small items, though they can't be used to attack by themselves. These extra limbs do not allow additional attacks without DM approval.

Diopsids have a tough shell and a digestive system that make them healthier than normal, despite their orc-length lives. They gain an additional +2 to their constitution and a +1 to their strength.
