Homebrew Canadian Species Details

"Oh, Canada!"

-Canadian Anthem

Canadians come from a mystical land to the north.  Nobody who goes there ever returns, except for the ones who do and say it was quite nice, really.  They are clearly doppelgangers and must be watched closely.

Canadian Traits

Canadians have the following traits:

Attribute Bonus

Your friendly disposition earns you +2 to your Charisma score.  You may add +1 to any other ability score of your choice.

Frigid North

The mythical land of Canada is far in the northlands, and the winters are bitterly harsh.  You have resistance to cold damage and low temperatures.

Mounty

The Royal Gendarmerie of Canada, or the Mountie, is a symbol of the Canadian people.  You have proficiency with Land Mount tools and start the game with a horse.

Hockey Nuts

Canadians worship the greatest sport of all time. As a result of their training you no longer consider ice or snow to be difficult terrain.

Quite Polite, Eh?

Canadians have a reputation for being polite, don't'cha know?  You have proficiency on Persuasion ability checks. You also gain proficiency in Stealth ability checks.  Did you know that there are Canadians living among us right now?  In fact, I hear there's one in this town as we speak...it could be anybody!

Additionally, if you are about to get in a fight at a tavern you may gain advantage on Persuasion checks by saying something along the lines of, "No, no, I'm Canadian, I swear!"  This usually de-escalates things quickly.
