Homebrew Chuthul Species Details

“A spawn from the abyss, given the breath of life by malice and hatred.”

Crimson red eyes, gazing into them you see nothing but darkness. The red glow vanishes as the light fades from your soul.

“Appearing only once every few centuries, it is a incredibly lucky to see one in the flesh... and a curse to cross paths with one.”

“You're kidding, if these things really exist then why haven't I heard of them before.”

"Anyone who meets one either doesn't know or doesn't live to tell the tale. I read it in my grandfathers notebook, from the blood soaked pages that he has supposedly written just before he died."

"Let me read that" as he snatches the notebook. "Tales spread like wildfire, we would've heard about these before-"

As those words left his mouth, all the lanterns within the room were hushed out. The window burst open as a strong breeze brought in a low hanging fog. The man snatches the book back has he rushes frantically for the door. Just before he reaches the door it swings open very abruptly, and standing before him was a hooded figure with crimson red eyes. Before he could let out a breath he and the figure vanish dropping the notebook. The other man fell out of his chair, before he could get to his feet the figure appeared seemingly out of no where. He could finally see the figures face, many glowing red eyes, tentacles covering the mouth, a greenish grey tinge to the skin. Unable to move, frozen the man on his hands and knees tried desperately to scream... but his lips wouldn't move. He heard this deep voice that reverberated within his soul, the voice didn't come from the figure but he knew it belonged to it. The figure raised his hand as he was lifted to his feet by a force that chilled him to his bone. The figures tentacles rose revealing teeth unlike anything he had seen before. The figure lunged as if ready to tear at the mans face, he closed his eyes and as he opened them the figure was gone. The lanterns were lit, the fog had been cleared, the door and window were closed. It was as if things were unchanged, save for his friend. His friend was gone but the notebook remained at the bottom of the door. He carefully got up and picked up the notebook, the empty pages were now scribbled with the words "He has risen, he will ascend, he will ruin". He stat there in shock as to what just happened as the words he heard played in his head over and over again. It was in a language that he didn't know, but he understood the words. He spoke the words out loud "Follow the darkness, or be swallowed by it. You shall bring forth an age, the age of Chuthulu." As these words played in his head they sent chills down his spine, he peered out the window into the blanket of darkness the night had brought. The crimson red eyes stood alone, as they faded into the darkness. He dropped to his knees muttering, "He has risen. I shall not speak his name. He will come for us and that will be our end."
