Homebrew Apefolk, Long Tail subrace (Created by u/Ya-Boi-Cthulhu on reddit) Species Details

This is actually a subrace of the Apefolk race but because DnD beyond is stupid and doesn't let you change the size of races I had to do this. Long Tail Apefolk are based off of Monkeys and Lemurs.

These are the traits of a Long Tail Apefolk. (both parent race and subrace)

Ability Score Increase

Your wisdom score increases by 1.

Age

Apefolk reach maturity by age 5. Compared to humans, apefolk don’t usually live longer than 60 years.

Alignment

Apefolk are free spirits but do believe that the world is meant to be protected, this often leans them towards goodness and chaos.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a climbing speed of 20 feet.

All four hands

Apefolk feet have similar functionality to their hands, unfortunately these hands can’t be used for battle because they have to be used like normal legs to be walked on. When sitting they easily function as a second pair of hands; they can hold objects, use tools, and perform somatic components.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.

Ability Score Increase (Long Tail)

Your Dexterity score increases by 2

Size

Long Tail are between 3 and 4 feet tall and weigh around 40 pounds. Your size is Small.

Prehensile Tail

You can grasp things with your tail. It has a reach of 5 feet, and it can lift a number of pounds equal to two times your Strength score. You can use it to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container; grapple someone; or make an unarmed strike. Your DM might allow other simple tasks to be added to that list of options. It can't wield weapons or shields or do anything that requires manual precision, such as using tools or magic items or performing the somatic components of a spell.

Tree Climber

Your climbing speed is equal to your base walking speed.

Tree Swinger

You have proficiency with Dexterity (acrobatics) rolls.
