Homebrew Bullywug Species Details

Your Bullywug character has certain traits unique to its race.

Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity increases by 2 and your Constitution increases by 1.

Age: Bullywugs reach adulthood around their 15th year and most are expected to live approximately half a century.

Alignment: Bullywugs are mostly neutral. Not distinguishing between good and evil, they usually choose the path of least resistance.

Size: Adult Bullywugs range between 3.5 and 6 feet tall, averaging at roughly 4.75 feet. Their average weight lies between 100-200lbs, but large Bullywugs sometimes grow to be over 300lbs. Your size is medium.

Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

 

Speak with Frogs and Toads: You can communicate simple concepts to frogs and toads when you speak in Bullywug.

Slimy Skin: You have advantage on Strength(Athletics) and Dexterity(Acrobatics) checks to escape or resist a grapple, so long as you spent at least 1 minute moisturizing your skin within the last 8 hours, or 4 hours in arid environments.

Swamp Camouflage: You have advantage on Dexterity(Stealth) checks in swampy terrain, and you may take the Hide action when lightly obscured by murky water.

Frogleap: You are always considered to have a running start when jumping.

Tongue-lash: So long as the use of your tongue is not inhibited, your unarmed strikes are considered to have the Reach property. Additionally, you can make minor interactions with your tongue, such as activating buttons, casting touch spells or retrieving small items, from a distance of up to 10 feet.

Languages: You can speak, read and write Common and Bullywug. Bullywug is an odd, guttural language spoken mostly by contracting the windpipe and inflating/deflating airsacs. As such, it can be spoken with a closed mouth.

Your skin absorbs oxygen when submerged, allowing you to 'breathe' underwater. You also gain a swim speed equal to your base movement speed. Additionally, due to your third eyelid (or nictitating membrane), your vision is not affected by being underwater.
