Homebrew Waterborn Species Details
Those who think of other planes at all consider them remote, distant realms, but planar influence can be felt throughout the world. It sometimes manifests in beings who, through an accident of birth, carry the power of the planes in their blood. They manifested into this world as a result of exposure to a surge of elemental power, through phenomena such as an eruption from the Inner Planes or a planar convergence. Elemental energy saturates any creatures in the area and might alter their nature enough that their offspring are forever changed costing the lives of their parents.

Aquatic beasts have an extraordinary affinity with your people. You can communicate simple ideas with beasts that can breathe water. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return.
Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Call of Wave
You know the shape water cantrip. You can cast create or destroy water, control water, and wall of water. In between short rests, you regain this ability. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Cold Resistance
You have resistance to cold damage.
Amphibious
You can breathe air and water.
Ability Score Improvement
Your Wisdom score increases by 2. Your Dexterity score increases by 1.

You can speak, read, and write Common and Primordial. Primordial is a guttural language, filled with harsh syllables and hard consonants.
