Homebrew Aludren Species Details

Varied and strange, no two Aludren will ever look the same. They value their differences and individuality, and they are often confused by racism and discrimination in other communities. They prefer to celebrate every difference and use those differences for the good of the tribe.

Built for Multitasking

All Aludren share a few key traits, namely having four arms instead of just two and a third eye. While the lower pair of eyes are usually focused on one place at a time, the third eye tends to wander and observe everything going on around them. They are adept at keeping track of multiple tasks and the extra limbs help to efficiently work on two or more things at once. This habit of multitasking often confuses other races who are not used to having a conversation with someone who is making eye contact, watching their surroundings, knitting, and preparing breakfast all at once.

Friendly Competition

Aludren love a good competition. Whether it's a foot race, a dice game, or just to see who can finish their ale first, the competitive spirit has shaped their society. They regularly host large games and contests with grand prizes and colosseums and other sports arenas are scattered throughout every city. They often settle disputes using a test of skill or other small competition. 

Despite their competitive nature, Aludren rarely hold grudges. They recognize skill when they see it and have no problem admitting loss. They accept defeat humbly and usually go and get drinks together after a good fight or game. It is a deadly insult to call someone a cheater or a poor sport.

A Colorful Race

While their exact origin is unknown, Aludren civilization began in large and lush jungles. Perhaps this is the reason for their striking coloring. Their skin tone can range from human browns and tans to bright and vibrant colors like blue or green. Usually, their lower pair of eyes are one color, and similar in appearance to humans, and the third eye is much more exotic in appearance.

Aludren like to grow their hair long and wear it in a multitude of braids and knots. Their hair is just as varied in color as their skin is, but the most common color is white.

Aludren are very different from each other and this reflects in their individual abilities. You gain a one-point increase in Strength, Constitution, Wisdom, Intelligence, or Charisma.

Aludren are naturally very observant. You have advantage on perception checks that involve sight.

Well Armed

Having four arms comes with its advantages and disadvantages. You can wield two two-handed weapons at a time. You are able to do the somatic parts of spellcasting as long as at least one hand is free. Unfortunately, not a lot of armor is made to fit your physique. You can only wear armor on your upper half if it has been made or modified for you.
