A Race Apart

 Cryosians have a unique and exotic look that is not quite like any other race in the material plane. Their bodies are cover in minute scales that are so fine that they may be mistaken for skin until examined closely which tend to be white, blue, or purple in hue although some pinks and reds have been described in rare circumstances. They sport large three-toed feet that capable of gripping and grabbing and nimble tails that are longer than they are tall. They tend to have very soft features and faces that are often considered strangely attractive and almost elven in nature although often considered unsettling. As a people, Cryosians tend to have a very lithe build and are often very short in stature and rarely grow to 5 feet tall often never weigh more than 100 lbs.

There is virtually no difference between males and females of the race in terms of build and stature. They will often grow the same height and have similar builds and weights. The only noticeable difference between the sexes is males grow exceptionally fine crystalline scales in symmetrical patterns on their forearms, shins, and on the crown of their heads whereas females will grow crests of very fine and exquisite feathers on their head.

 

Haughty, Cold, and Vicious

Those very few that have met a Cryosian describe them as aloof and uninterest in the affairs of most other races, and often appear as though they view themselves as superior to other races. The fact they live so far north they have little interaction with most of the other races and as such a very Cryo-Centric view of the world. This coupled with their exceptionally long lives and an inborn prideful nature makes them see the world in a different and less emotional way as compared to other Races. They view most events of the world in a detached and indifferent manner.

Their cold mannerisms don't extend to all aspects of their being and are not without their limits. Those who have seen a Cryosian deeply insulted or with a wounded pride describe their fury as terrifying. Their cool exterior melts away and they tend to become vicious and firey in an instant and are truly terrible to witness.

Age

Cryosians reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans but are not generally considered adults by their own race until they are 100 years of age and are said to be capable of living over 1000 years.

Alignment

Cryosians believe themselves tend to believe themselves to superior to most other races and tend to have true loyalty to themselves. How this expresses this varies wildly, be it good, evil, chaotic, or lawful. Their cold nature makes them hard to read, as a race they favor any particular alignment.

Size

Cryosians usually stand between 4-5 feet tall when fully grown. Your size is medium.

Speed

A small and light build grants a slightly faster movement speed, your movement speed as a Cryosian is 35 feet.

Darkvision

Evolving far in the north, where there is little sunlight and night can last for weeks at a time, Cryosians have evolved the ability to see in the dark. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Icy Heritage

The blood of your ancestors leaves you unaffected by even the coldest weather and climates and grants you resistance to cold damage. 

Prehensile Limbs

As a Cryosian you are born with a unique physiology, you are able to strike and grapple with both your feet and tail. Powerful almost talon-like three-toed reptilian feet and exceptionally nimble and versatile tail make you a more varied being., Although neither your tail nor feet are both strong and dexterous to wield a weapon they function as well as hands for all other purposes and function as hands for most purposes.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Draconic. Draconic is thought to be one of the oldest languages and is often used in the study of magic. The language sounds harsh to most other creatures and includes numerous hard consonants and sibilants.
