Homebrew Zombie Species Details

It stood before the window, cloaked by pale moonlight. In the dead of winter its breath fails to fog, their clothes hardly acceptable for the chill. Their hair is mangled and falling out in various places, their face petrified in an eternal mixture between anguish and malice.

One. Two. Three. Three arrows to the chest and the monster fails to falter, still shambling forward. They bring up an ancient axe in their gangrenous hands and bring down a killing blow upon the elven archer that had spotted them.

The beast, this unholy undead, successfully defended its master's home, and now... they had another body to add to the ranks.

Back From The Afterlife
You used to be alive, used to be human. At some point you died and were resurrected to serve some sort of dark power. Some continue to serve their masters, eternal slaves to their will. Others outgrow or even overthrow them, choosing to continue their lives while attempting to cope with that insatiable hunger.

No Home For The Wicked
Like almost all undead, you no longer have a place to genuinely call your home. Zombies free from the shackles of necromancers aimlessly wander the earth, searching for a purpose while desperately hiding their appearance from the living. Those who still serve may live in a necromancer's lair, but they are merely nothing more than servants kept wandering in a secluded space.

Zombie Names
Most Zombies that still possess a will of their own choose to use the name they were given in life, otherwise they simply use nicknames or unit names given to them by their masters.
