Homebrew Vulturian Species Details

Vulturian are a bird folk race that is an off shoot of an Aarakokra, instead of being more hawk and eagle like Vulturian tend resemble that of a vulture. as such they are excellent at surviving and pretty intelligent, they also play a helpful role in cleaning up carrion from the lands they inhabit. but as they are more removed from civilization they are not as charismatic as an Aarakokra and due to there stature they are not very strong physically.

Vulturian get a +2 to dex a +4 to wisdom but get a -4 strength.

Scent: Vulturian get the scent ability when identifying anything that is dead and Vulturian do not need to see anything dead or rooting to find that exact thing. this includes undead as anything not living giving off a different scent even if it is subtle.

Eat anything: ability to eat and digest just about anything because of the strong stomach acid and high amount of bacteria in a vultures stomach

Night vision: vultures have dark vision.

Vomit: once a day a vulture can vomit up some of what it has eaten, vultures throw up as a defense mechanism and because of how acidic and how much bacteria exists within a vultures stomach this tends to be dangerous. the vomit is a 10 ft line breath weapon ability with no failure chance. it deals 1d6 acid damage and 1d6 disease damage. + dc constitution save 13 or target contracts a random disease. This vomit breath weapon can also be fired as a long range projectile weapon of 100 ft but this does have a miss chance. the ability can re charge after a long rest or eating a full meal that is an equivalent of 5 rations.

fast walk: Vultures use there wings in conjunction with there legs to walk and hop around quickly. By doing this similarly Vulturians are able to apply there fly speed to their walking speed when on the ground.

Sharp beak: Vulturians have weak talons just as vultures do. but they have a wickedly sharp beak that is hooked able to cut and tear just as well as a sharp blade. this is efficient for using it to cut through material and grants a natural bite attack for 1d4 damage level that has a chance of causing the target to contract a random disease the dc save check is constitution of 5.

Vulturian have a natural resistance to disease. with a two dice advantage on disease checks for saves and resistance.

Vulturian do not have a talon natural attack like Aarakokra since they are very vulture like and vultures do not have powerful talons

Vulturian get a +5 on perception checks.
