Homebrew Wookie Species Details

On the world of Kashyyykk, Wookies live in the massive trees that cover the world. Wookies live in several different tribes across the world. Each of the tribes have their own set of rules and traditions. Many of them included warriors and shamans that help the Wookies followed their traditions. The best warriors often become the chieftains and the delegates for their individual tribe. Once every generation, a force-sensitive is born into one of the tribes. This child becomes the pride and joy of the tribe, and will go on to be a great Jedi Master.

Tough Lives

Due to the Wookies' strength and size, many different Black Market suppliers want them for slavery. Trashodahns are one of the greatest enemies, and the two species are often at odds with each other. Because of this existence, many Wookies lean how to fight from a very young age so they can defend themselves from any threat. Along with the off-world threats, Wookies also have to deal with the creatures that live on the planet as well. On the forest floor, there are an abundance of threats, because of this Wookies typically live in the treetops.

Code of Honor

Wookies are known to be some of the greatest warriors in Republic space, and many will travel to become bounty hunters or mercenaries. Yet no matter how far a Wookie travels from Kashyyykk, they still have to follow the Code of Honor that all Wookies follow. Those who do not follow the Code are often thrown out of their individual tribes and must learn how to survive on their own. This Code of Honor dictates that a Wookie must not use their claws in combat and they must not resort to dirty fighting tactics in order to win.

 

Wookie Traits

Wookies share a number of traits in common with each other.

Thick Fur

Their thick fur protects them from the cold. Wookies are able to travel to planets like Hoth, without any protective gear.

Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.

Wookies tend to live much longer than human. Many Wookies live between 400 and 500 years old.

Wookies are between 7 and 8 feet tall and weigh between 280 and 340 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Athletic Build

Due to your Wookie build, you are in better shape than most species in the galaxy.

Climbing Claws

Because of your claws, you are able to scale any surface equal to your walking speed. You must be holding on with a least one hand.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Forest Native

You are able to find your way in any environment that is similar to a forest. You are also familiar with a native forest animal
