Homebrew Bænebreggh Species Details

Take a Darah. Strip him of his eagerness, his sternness and his love for advancement. Now add a ton of compassion, love for life, altruism and fun and you've got yourself a Bænebreggh. They are best described as: 'What happens, when a child tries to create an idealised, intelligent creature?'.

The Free Folk

Most times sheltered from the noise and stress of civilisation, the Bænebreggh, also called 'Free Folk' or 'Fair Folk', live in small communities of about six families, residing either in the outskirts of the mountains or travelling along the major trading routes.

In this seclusion the Bænebreggh enjoy a calm way of life, providing their own food and schooling their children in their traditions. The most important guideline is their love for every peaceful being: The Free Folk enjoy regular, colourful festivities, sleep back to back with their pets and live often in polyamorous relationships. In addition it is not uncommon for the Fair Folk to discover their true calling in life and change their gender or sexuality to feel at peace with themselves.

Due to this deep understanding of what life is, the Bænebreggh developed an intense connection to the Blood of Eden, achieving masteries in the weaving of blood easily, which Darah could only accomplish through years of practice and study. The Darah seem to not really know how to handle the Bænebreggh, on one hand amusing over their naivety and carefreeness, on the other hand applauding their boundless love and will to help.

Though not being overly discriminated upon, the Free Folk mostly prefer the sheltered life in peace over the complex and confusing structures of society. Nevertheless it is not rare for some Bænebreggh to leave their communities behind and to start engaging in social life, searching for their sense in life elsewhere.

The Fair Folk

When meeting a Bænebreggh in the Darahn society, most people probably wouldn't be able to discern between them and a Darah. The Free Folk grow on average about a head higher than Darah, their skin tone is darker, they are build more muscular and they sprout more body hair than the rest of civilisation. Most would say though, that the Fair Folk produces way more creatures described as 'beautiful' or 'seductive' than the common folk. The biggest difference between Bænebreggh and Darah would most likely be their clothing, the Free Folk prefer lofty, revealing outfits crafted with common materials over flashy apparel. Due to these similarities in appearance and almost coinciding biology, unions between Darah and Bænebreggh is not rare at all and their offsprings often don't know which race they correspond to up to the day they die.
