Homebrew Beast walker Species Details

The Beastwalker race are ancient people of the land. They are a cross between a human and ana animal. In olden times Beastwalkers weren't thought to be holy or trustworthy, many believed they were the work of the devil. Therefore, the Beastwalkers developed into tribes. Many different animals have Beastwalker forms so the race is very diverse. Fish, birds and bears can all be beastwalker variants.

Ancient Origins

Beast walkers are wise, magical creatures. No matter the biome of how many there are Beast walkers rome  all land. Beast walkers have respect for all races (except Goliath) and try to live peacefully.

In a time before documentation, a old mage brought home a bear cub. He grew fond of the bear and when it was close to death he wished for another. in the night, he went to his office and created a remedy. Before he fed the mixture to his Bear he added one of his hairs. The potion transformed the bear into a bipedal human but with the appearance and characteristics of the bear.

The mage brought home another bear and an eagle. Not long after the Bears had created a colony and lived in the mountains, the eagle had helped the mage find more animals until he made 8 types. When the mage died, the Beast walkers fled to find new homes and the race continues today.

Giant rivalries

Beast walkers are nice on most races but one civilization in particular has a cold nature toward the Beast walker. The Giants of old were not kind to the new creatures who appeared on the land. The Bear walkers in the mountains found themselves close to Giant halls and the Giant folk were disturbed. The giants responded by destroying the bear walker settlements.

After the Giants became more scarce, their Goliath cousins took the mantle of rival. Over time the Walkers and Goliath Developed a hostile relationship and many battles took place.  Mountain wars are not something you want to be caught in.

Biome homes

All of the many subraces live in different settlements and homes. Overall there are 8 subraces: Bear, Eagle, Fish, Goat, Sheep, Turtle, Hare and Owl. Some like the Sheep and Goat are similar and live in the same areas but other couldn't be more different and small rivals may sprout.

The Bear live in mountain ranges and have cavern homes filled with coal and iron. Often the climate is cold so their thick fur provides a snug blanket. Eagle walkers live in high altitude areas, often hills, mountains and forests. Some Owl walkers may lso live in Eagle settlements. The Fish walkers live in underwater huts made from kelp, wood and often near coral. Fish walkers can also breathe on land so some beach settlements can be seen. Goat and Sheep walkers live in grassland or forest villages but some may live with other races as they are the most accepted Walker. Turtle walkers live in seaside caves or in swamps and rainforests. Anywear with water or rainy environments will suit them fine. Hare walkers prefer to travel in small groups or alone they don't have one resting place and lead a nomadic lifestyle. Like Goats and Sheep, the Hares are welcome in most settlements. The Owl walkers live with the Eagles or in woodland areas. They are fantastic scouts so some Owls work in cities as guards or scholars because of their wisdom.
