Legacy of Jotaar

What the Akilyss love to post about is there relation to the Giants of the North. They trace their lineage back to one of their most iconic but also heroic members. Jotaar, the Small Giant as many people called him for his greatly reduced size than his kin. But nonetheless this Giant would go on to save the world with a group of heroic adventurers from the likes of the Council of Witches. Thanks to their heritage too him many of the race have gained abilities tied to their giant blood. Most members of the race tend to have skin tones that are shades of blue, white, gray, or brown. They all naturally have very curly hair that grows rapidly during the first five decades of their life and then grows at a normal pace thereafter. They usually do elegant braids or hairstyles similar to that of the Vikings as well as classic medieval European. The color of the Akilyss' hair is always one of the following three colors: white, ginger red, or baby blue. On average by adulthood most members of the race are about 9ft tall and they tend to be built very thick and beefy looking in comparison to the smaller races of the world. Their eyes are solid colors of black, white, red, blue, or purple. They tend to tattoo their bodies with designs that denote what tribe they come from and the culture that tribe has. They reach adulthood at 50 and can live easily up to 700 and there are theories to be some that can reach 1,000 years old if they're lucky.

Paragons of Brotherhood

The Akilyss have been raised over many generations to be kind and helpful not only to each other but to all other races that request eight of them so long as the intentions of the people or person are good. They leave behind nothing but fond memories between all those that knew them. Their belief in making the world a better place is the guiding drive for the race as a whole. They have faith in the old gods but that faith has been tested and lost with the old gods having left. Nonetheless they work effortlessly to build up not just societies but people in desperate need of assistance.

Akilyss Names and Tribes

Akilyss have eight tribes and each tribe elects a chieftain that sits on the Council of the Chiefs. Each tribe is slightly different from each other in how they practice some of their beliefs and customs. However each tribe makes the other stronger as they see each other as one massive family united by blood. To them the names of the individual members matter just as much as the name of the tribes that they are part of.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 2 and your Charisma score increases by 1.

Giant Stature

The Akilyss have the ability to become massive in size by innately gaining the ability to use Enlarge/Reduce after they have pushed themselves beyond previous limitations. They gain the ability to cast this at 3rd level once per long rest.

Gentle Giant

The Akilyss are often regarded as the kind-hearted Giantkin who many tend to think of as the race of brotherly love and fellowship with how welcoming and helpful they are. However thanks to their large stature many people can be easily intimidated by them especially if that person may have broken their laws. You gain advantage on persuasion and intimidation checks.

Giantkin Blood

Akilyss descend from Jotaar, a giant who was born with their equivalent of dwarfism. It is said that he was only 12ft tall in comparison to his skin who many can attest nowadays range from 20 to 30 feet tall in size. His shorts size among his kin made it so that he was actually able to reproduce with many of these shorter races of the world which is how the Akilyss were born as his descendants. However they were born with some of his giant blood giving them a little bit more than just a larger size. You count as a Large size creature and have the carry capacity to match. You also gain resistance to cold and bludgeoning damage.
