Homebrew Draconian Spurned Species Details

DRACONIANS

In the Dragonlance setting, the followers of the evil goddess Takhisis learned a dark ritual that let them corrupt the eggs of metallic dragons, producing evil dragonborn called draconians. Five types of draconians, corresponding to the five types of metallic dragons, fought for Takhisis in the War of the Lance: auraks (gold), baaz (brass), bozak (bronze), kapak (copper), and sivak (silver). In place of their draconic breath weapons, they have unique magical abilities

 on occasion, a draconian in the dragonarmies of Takhisis may make a tragic mistake, or fail in such a critical way, that it is left to a fate worse than death. The draconian's wings are painfully ripped off, as a symbol of their betrayal of Takhisis and their loss of position in the army. They are then left to be beaten and scourged, sometimes even eaten, by the other draconians. They lose many of their magical abilities and most don't survive, but there have been tales of a few wingless draconians that managed to escape and hide themselves from the dragonarmies they once served. These draconians can pass as a normal dragonborn in front of the uneducated fairly easily, but any knowledgeable being would be able to make out the difference. As a result, they usually end up on the fringes of civilization , or in the dark corners of society.

draconians learn quickly, so these spurned can learn new skills required for survival much faster than the average creature. Given time and circumstance, a spurned draconian may be able to recover its inherent  magical capabilities.

Age

Young dragonborn grow quickly. They walk hours after hatching, attain the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15. They live to be around 80.

Alignment

Dragonborn tend to extremes, making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil (represented by Bahamut and Tiamat, respectively). Most dragonborn are good, but those who side with Tiamat can be terrible villains.

Size

Dragonborn are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 6 feet tall and averaging almost 250 pounds. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
