Homebrew Vyeir Species Details

The Race of the Vyeir, called the Vyeiri, are water dwelling people of a long and distinct lineage. They are a naturally seclusive people, staying with their clans and distrusting any from the outside. They would seem to have a predisposition to violence, given how frequently wars between their people were fought in the past. The native Vyeiri of the ocean will very rarely leave their own watery home, tending to stay deep in the cold, heavy waters far from land dwellers. Those that travel to the surface, however, tend to either regret this choice, and return to the depths, or yearn for more, and seek to join the land. The Vyeiri are, at behest of the goddess Wisteia, able to shift their bodies to accommodate the change to land dwelling. Thus, nearly all land dwelling Vyeiri are followers of Wisteia.

With the shift of the body to accommodate land and water living, you are equipped with the lungs and gills required to breath in both mediums. 

Emissary of the Sea

 Aquatic beasts have an extraordinary affinity with your people. As an action, you can communicate simple ideas with beasts that can breathe water. They can understand the meaning of your words, though you have no special ability to understand them in return. Normal interaction roles apply if trying to persuade, intimidate, or otherwise.

Depth Dweller

Adapted to even the most extreme ocean depths, you have resistance to cold damage, and you ignore any of the drawbacks caused by a deep, underwater environment.

Blood of the Deep

Your bloodline has adapted to the deep seas poisons after years of ancient wars utilizing such weapons, providing resistance to both land and aquatic poisons in the present day.
