Homebrew Chimae'Reik Zairra Species Details

"Such a barbaric breed. They lack any subtly at all and value strength like it is gospel. It is no wonder they are from that Cursed Brother. However, their Honor-bound nature makes them trustful allies, I am loath to admit. But I cannot ignore that the blood of daemons run thick in their veins... Time will tell Whether that a boon... or a bane."

Strong and Honorable

Chimae'Reik share many traits with humans and elves. They have elven-like ears that are often adorned with fur on the back sides of the ear. They most always sport medium to large sets of horns on their head, as well as sharp teeth or tusks and claws on their fingers. They have long prehensile tails akin to that of a bovine creature. Their eyes appear to be very human-like but will become feline-like as well as glow when light is not available. Chimae'reik are very muscular in build, and most sport a stocky appearance, though exceptions to exist.

The Great Horned Beast

There are many tales about how the Zairra came to be, from evolution and adaption to creation and divinity. Among these many stories one remains the most respected, The tale of the Great beasts. Five massive beasts once roamed the land, their power immeasurable, yet they held no desire for destruction despite their superiority. Instead they sought to thrive and change the harsh lands into one that could become an eden.  Bahamuth the great drake, Sahkreael the regal Grimalkin, Aquaena the moonlit ocean, Fenryekhyr the white Lupin, And Fenryekhyr's brother Reikhazrenth the cursed, a horned great beast that was almost chimeric in nature. It was Reikhazrenth who was always seeking battle. but not for destruction, for preservation. Which none the less made the other four beasts harbor subconscious distain for him. It was He who bested the first daemonspawn that blighted the land. And it was he who partook in a honorbound feast of the flesh of the spawn. This changed Reikhazrenth. Where once he resembled his brother, he now had a spine of sharp bone, and grew bovine features. He was truly Chimeric. His kin despised this and saw it as rejecting his purity as a Great beast. Reikhazrenth did not wish to fight his kin, there was no honor in that. As such he went to the cold north known as Northbreak, to reflect upon what he had done. Over time the daemonic blood within him grew, and he soon forged his own distain for the other great beasts. They were the ones who betrayed them. It was them who were wrong. And so he brooded for eons. When the first Zairra came to be, it was of the four beasts. The Drahakein, a reptillian people in service of Bahamuth. They were wise beyond years and mostly acted as traders and politicians. The Servaelkyn, those that came from Sahkreael. they were slim and nimble. Acting as a race of spies and travelers. those who came from the great beast Aquena were the Poside'ath, a people who dwelled in the many oceans and waters. They served as envoys and speakers for many of the intelligent aquatic races. Lupaeren, Those of came from Fenryekhyr. they were warriors of honor. Nothing was heard of Reikhazrenth for centuries. at a time before the great beasts dissapeared, many thought he had died in Northbreak. This was incorrect. Instead he had sired his own people. the Chimae'reik. War-like and brutal. Strong yet honorbound. despite Reikhazrenth's corruption, he tried to maintain the one thing that defined him. His Unwavering Honor. These people were tempered by the harsh cold of Northbreak. They became a strong and durable Zairran race. capable of turning aside even mortal blows.

A Race of few

Chimae'Reik are very few in number. The distain many other Zairra harbored towards them has led to their numbers dwindling over centuries. None the less, The Chimae'Reik can thrive almost anywhere. And will often integrate into other race's societies such as Elven or Human, where they work as blacksmiths, Butchers, hunters, or most commonly soldiers.

Each Chimae'Reik is expected to respect all honor. Forsaking honor means to become little more than the beasts they tread so carefully above being. A Chimae'Reik will never target those weaker than them, it is a sin to so, and will seek out those stronger in order to prove their worth.
