Homebrew Da'traxi Species Details

The Da'traxi are among the smallest of the fey spirits normally growing to about 8 to 10 inches tall. Commonly mistaken for Pixies or Fairies, the Da'traxi are humanoid in shape and have a set of dragonfly like wings. They are extremely rare and have a tendency to disguise themselves as other, similarly sized fey creatures. Adept in the arcane arts, these nimble, cheerful folk are known as tricksters although they generally don't mean harm. Even though they are capable of flight, Da'traxi are known for their nimbleness and for their size are quite capable of many physical feats.

Physiology

The Da'traxi are humanoid in shape, posses small dragonfly like wings and short horns. They usually stand about 9 inches tall (on average) and like humans vary in body types, however slender builds are much more common. Da'traxi usually have green, blue or pink skin with a variety of hair and eye colours.

Age

Da'traxi are not an immortal race, but do live for a very long time, in human years Da'traxi have an average life expectancy of 48,000. Da'traxi reach adult hood at around 11,200 (equivalent to about 21 in human years)

History

The Da'traxi are native to the feywild, however throughout history their numbers have disminished due to being hunted by larger, powerful predators, some small groups of Da'traxi have fled from the feywild using powerful magic because of this, and now can be found, hidden, in wooded regions accross the world.

The Da'traxi have a range of natural abilities which they have had for as long as any one of them can remember.

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence and Dexterity score both increase by 1.

Trickster Blink

Your tiny form disapates and reapears up to 10ft away with a flash of green fey energy. You can do this 3 times and it's replenished on a short rest. Bonus Action.

Da'traxi Magic

The Da'traxi are equiped with a few spells which have helped keep them alive throughout history.

At 1st level you know the cantrip Dancing Lights, at 3rd level you can cast Faerie Fire once, and at 5th level you can cast Moonbeam once. These spells replenish on a long rest. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Trickster Shape

You are able to change your form into that of any tiny creature with a cr of 1 or less or you can change and morph your form as to still look humanoid but remove specific traits e.g. hiding your horns or wings. The creature can be a maximum of a foot taller than your natural height.

Fey Shift

Starting at 15th level you are able to transport up to 8 willing creatures to the Feywild, or vice versa. You can use this ability once a day.

If just one creature is not willing to shift, the ability fails, but counts as being used.

Easily Understood

Da'traxi language sounds like the first language of whoever hears them speak, however this does not work both ways and although anyone can understand a Da'traxi, they are limited in what languages they can speak.

Datraxi can read, speak and understand both Druidic and Common, but they are only able to write in Druidic.

Movement Speed

Your base walking speed is 10ft. You are also capable of 15ft of flying speed.
