Homebrew Warsian Species Details
Warsian
Warsians are draconic humanoids with many traits similar to a dragonborn. However, Warsians are not descended from dragons, as dragonborn or half-dragons are, but are a species that evolved alongside dragons. Also different from many other dragon-like races, Warsians possess wings. Like most dragons, Warsians collect gold and magical artifacts.
Lifestyle
Warsians live in clans. Each clan has several positions, including the Chief, Master Smith, Healer and Provisions Manager. Clans live close together, sharing most resources and wealth. Many Warsians spend much of their time hunting dangerous monsters. After killing a monster, they harvest its materials and use them to strengthen their weapons and armour. Because they frequently destroy monsters that trouble a village for rewards, Warsians are considered by many to be guardians or society. Warsians believe that the world is surrounded by an energy field called the aether. The aether is more commonly called the force. There are 3 sides to the aether; the Ashla (light), the Bogan (Dark), and the Bendu (Middle). Magic users are believed to be chosen by the aether and are called force-users.
Expert Crafters
Warsians are experts at making/improving equipment. Many Warsians learn a craft called Weapon Augmentation, which is the art of using parts from slain monsters to make weapons stronger and more effective. In each clan, the best at the craft is called the Master Smith. The Master Smith takes money and monster materials to make a weapon for a customer. However, Warsians consider most creatures to be unworthy of such weapons, so these are rarely seen.
Honor
Warsians take honor and promises very seriously. When a dispute rises between two Warsians, they settle it with ritual combat. Any terms set in ritual combat are considered sacred, and to cross them is to invite death. Any creature that denies terms set in ritual combat is called an oath-breaker. The same applies to any creature discovered to be acting in a dishonorable manner. Warsians are encouraged to hunt down and destroy such creatures.
Warsian Names
Warsian names have 3 parts. The name, the title, and the clan name. Example: Nyra the Scourge of the Dire Miralis Clan. The name is what Warsians address each other with in a casual manner. Titles are usually chosen based on a Warsian’s personality or achievements. Clans are often named after a location (like the clan of the eastern sea), or a creature that the clan respects/lives near (Rathalos clan).
