Homebrew Unshackled Gnoll Species Details
Hulking hyena-like humanoids, gnolls have a long and dark history that leads to these more salient gnolls being met with fearful glances. Once under the influence of Yeenoghu these proud gnolls have freed themselves from the insatiable hunger that plagues their kind.
These freed gnolls tend to gather in smaller matriarchal tribes and live off the lands they roam. Knowing the way humans and elves see them, these hyeanids rarely interact with most other races.
Still, some of these gnolls long to wander the world and see the splendor it holds.
Hulking but Kind
Unshackled Gnolls tend to be slightly taller than the average gnoll due to a change in posture, and move with an urgency that speaks to their physical strength. Unshackled Gnoll coats have a variety of patterns ranging from brown with dark spots to a pale beige with black stripes. Almost all gnolls have a mane of longer hair that runs from the crest of their heads to mid back that when agitated can stand on end making the gnoll more physically intimidating. Despite their physical might, Unshackled Gnolls are exceptionally kind, resorting to violence only when necessary, however once pushed past that point Unshackled Gnolls are fierce warriors.
