Homebrew Draft Centaur Species Details

Coming from bloodlines of strength and endurance over long periods, these Centaurs are true to their heritage. Standing between 8 - 9 feet in height (5 1/2 - 6 1/2 feet to the withers), these are powerfully built examples of their kind.

Weighing in at 2400 - 2800 pounds, these are the largest type of Centaur. Heavily muscled, the man half of these Centaurs is often developed to obvious extents, even beneath the clothing. The horse half is heavily boned and thickly built, with great ropes of muscle visible as they move beneath the skin.

This form of Centaur is also the one to have the most problems maneuvering inside most buildings or other enclosed places. On average, the "Drafter" is between 8 1/2 - 10 feet in length.

Draft centaurs have helped build grand cities from the ground up since their ancestors left their tribes and dropped the nomadic lifestyle of centaurs. With their powerful bodies, they've turned settlements from small villages to thriving industrial centers. These cities are able to create grand industrial products thanks to the draft centaurs' great strength and endurance. They also have no problem shipping the products from place to place by pulling the carts behind them.

While they are quite strong and imposing, this doesn't translate to their character. Draft centaurs are quite friendly and all around nice if a little loud and like to tease their bipedal friends by bragging with their physical power sometimes. But those teases are more of a non-serious, friendly nature as "Drafters", how these centaurs are sometimes called, are way less arrogant and stoic as their nomadic brothers and sisters. But speaking of physical powers being mentioned, should one of their friends or someone innocent being attacked or harassed they're quick to jump to the defense. While they're not particularly violent, draft centaurs can deal large amounts of damage within a small increment of time. Thugs and hooligans on the street stand little chance against the powerful hooves and fists of "Drafters". An even worse place to make one mad is the tavern, as they're fond of their alcohol.

If two "Drafters" have a disagreement however, they settle it with a round of sled pulling or good, old fashioned tug'o'war. Sled pulling means that one "Drafter" has to pull a wooden sled over the longest distance possible. The sled however is loaded with heavy weights (mostly big stone blocks) to the point that even a "Drafter" struggles to get it going.

One thing they are and can be proud of, even though most of them don't like to brag with it, is their carrying ability. They are able to carry an entire groups gear on their own, may it be the gear of their bipedal friends after a long day if work or the loot of their party.
