Homebrew Weregoose Species Details

You lived life as a normal member of your race before being cursed. There is no known cure for this curse, and you cannot control when you appear as a goose or when you appear your pre-curse/real race.

As a weregoose, you gain some abilities you did not have before, but also disadvantages.

These abilities and disadvantages effect your character at your and your DM's decision, so be sure to discuss it.

Weregoose Traits

As an aarakocra, you have certain traits in common with your people. Being able to fly at high speed starting at 1st level is exceptionally effective in certain circumstances and exceedingly dangerous in others. As a result, playing an aarakocra requires special consideration by your DM.

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your strength increases by 1.

Alignment

Geese in general are chaotic neutral at best, however as a turned goose, you still have the awareness and identity you did pre-curse, so your alignment will stay the same or change based on your character rather than race.

Size

When in goose form, you are the size of a regular but large goose, when in normal form, you are the same race and size that you were pre-curse.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.

Flight

You have a flying speed of 50 feet. To use this trait, you must be in your bird form. If you turn out of your bird form while in the air (your DM can decide if/when this happens), you must make a constitution saving throw, or take 1d4 damage for every 10ft you are in the air.

Goose Attack

Geese are natural weapons, which, when in goose form, you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with them, you deal slashing damage equal to 1d4 + your Strength modifier, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Avian, and your original native language pre-curse.
