Homebrew Axo Folk Species Details

Axofolk are solitary people. They often live alone. In cities, they can often be found on the outskirts if there are even any of them to find, however, this does not mean that they are antisocial. They are in fact incredibly friendly, one might even say to a fault. Terrans greeting complete strangers with hugs is not unheard of. Speaking of Terran axofolk, it is common for friends to greet each other and bid farewell with a hug, and the less friendly still share warm handshakes. However, as stated, axofolk are solitary. They enjoy a quiet night in very much, and unless they are with family or people they consider to be family, they will often become depressed or irritable whine with groups of people for more than a few days at a time. This is emphasized slightly for the troglodyte axofolk. They choose to live in very tdark habitats and was a result, have become almost entirely blind. They will usually not initiate social interaction, but will continue it very enthusiastically if given the chance.

Axo Folk Traits

As stated, all axofolk have large protruding gills. Their gills serve as sensory organs in addition to helping axofolk to breath underwater. Axofolk are very sensitive to magic and can often sense the presence of magic reliably using their gills.

Amphibious

You do not need to hold your breath underwater, as you can breath.

Rapid regeneration

As long as you have one hitpoint or are stabilized with 0 hitpoints, you regain one hitpoint per hour up to your maximum. Using this feature, you can regrow lost limbs in 2d4 weeks, or a length of time determined by your dm. If a limb has been removed and healed more than 5 times, it is permanently lost.

Slithering Nimbleness

 Due to your small size, you can move through the space of any creature that is one size category larger than you or larger.

Innate spellcasting

Using your gills, you can cast *detect magic* once per long rest.
