Homebrew Chiroptera Sapien Species Details
Sequestered in deep caves, the Chiroptera Sapiens, sometimes called batfolk, evoke fear and wonder.
Fang and Wing
From below, Chiroptera Sapiens look much like large bats. Only when they descend towalk across the ground does their humanoid appearance reveal itself. Standing upright, Chiroptera Sapiens reach between 5 and 7 feet.
Their appearance is human except that they have large leathery wings coming out of their backs, long pointed ears, and prominent fangs.
Creatures of the Night
Nowhere are the Chiroptera Sapiens more comfortable than in the dark. They typically spend most sunlit hours asleep in a cave or some other dark place. In battle, they prove dynamic and acrobatic fliers, moving with remarkable speed and grace, diving to lash opponents with weapons flying away.
Chiroptera Sapiens can speak their own language similar to common, but it is too high pitched for most races to hear.
Names
Chiroptera Sapiens have their own names for each other in their own language. This is not easy to translate to other languages so they adopt single names for non-Chiroptera Sapiens to call them.
