Homebrew Ursine Species Details
Ursine look almost exactly like bears, but have slightly longer legs and a propensity to move about upright like normal humanoids. This gives them an incredibly imposing height, and a fierce regal appearance about them. Ursine are proud warriors and shamans, preferring to live in secluded tribes in nearly inhospitable environments to normal folk. The Ursines thick fur, and great strength and durability provide them all the protection from the elements they might need.
Ursine make powerful warriors, turning this durability and natural power into potent weapons on the field of battle. Many orc warbands met their deaths at the fangs and claws of Ursine berserkers. Ursine shamans are deep and thoughtful, channeling the wisdom of the wild into helping their tribe. Shamans serve as spiritual leaders, healers, and teachers of the young cubs. Berserkers form the bulk of the hunters and warriors, with some few even growing so in tune with their affinity to the wild they learn to channel this into a powerful rage.
Ursine are a very secluded people, avoiding interaction with others as much as possible and thriving on their own. Rare few individuals find the call of the wild draws them to a life of adventure, and they set out to explore though. These adventurers make for powerful allies, and terrible foes who draw the wrath of the wild!
