Homebrew Lepalï (Mothfolk) Species Details
The Lepalï, a race of moth humanoids that hail ancestry to the Feywild, fickle-minded and free of spirit, they are often adventurers, but often for little reason.
Moth Kind
Lepalï are a Fey-touched race of humanoids with different unique aspects resembling humanoid and human-like features, with a true and component of moth characteristics. Moth features can often range, but they will always have wings, varying in size, but usually reaching past their arm span. The Wings can vary in color and pattern ranging from Bright Greens, Vibrant Bright Colors, to soft pastels and soft grayscale. They will often have a soft fur that can appear in patches, completely covered or none at all. The fur is most commonly on their arms, wings and head. Additionally, they'll commonly have large bulbous insectoid eyes of a moth aswell as soft feather-like antennae that extend from the forehead. Lastly, Lepalï will always have an extra set of arms, for a total of 4. Their extra pair is fairly weak but effectively can do simpler tasks. Otherwise, most of the human-like parts of the Lepalï will match the patterns of their moth features. For Example, Bright Green Wings and fur will result in hair that is green. Larger Wings tend to lead to the Lepalï being taller.
Free-Mind
These Creatures have little known to the origin. Some consider they may have possibly been some moths who had found their way into the Feywild who were eventually warped by the whimsical magic of the land. Some think it may have been the other the other way around and a fey-cursed human being another possibility. Given they are fey relation, it could be any number of possibilities. Regardless of their history, this Fey-infused race very much takes after both of its predecessors, the fey & the moth. Lepalï are free-minded, Ambitious and convictions are not something they idealize as they do empathy and an open mind or heart and a Willingness to take on the new. A long-term goal for them is a fairly rare encounter, and if one does have one, it is often due to something that was initially done out of curiosity or whim. A simple distraction couldl lead to a simple change of plans or a whole new adventure when it involves one of these winged insect people.
