Homebrew Warforged subrace, Transformer Species Details
As the turn of combat with the Warforged forces were reaching its peek, many saw possibilities in the adaptable and customizable bodies. The creators of these took inspiration from the druids and their wild shaping ability's; asking if they could applied that to a metal body with moving parts.
These Warforged were specially designed to preform certain takes better than other creatures would normally. While most were made to send information quickly over terrain, some were also built for utility, combat, supply transport.
Transforming in and out of vehicle forms requires a action to do so. Additionally, you can only go into you transformation a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus.

When you sleep during a long rest, you are in a inactive, motionless state, and appear inert.
Integrated Protection.
Your body has built-in defensive layers, which can be enhanced with armor:
- You can don only armor with which you have proficiency. To don armor other than a shield, you must incorporate it into your body over the course of 1 hour, during which you remain in contact with the armor. To doff armor, you must spend 1 hour removing it. You can rest while donning or doffing armor in this way.
- While you live, the armor incorporated into your body can't be removed against your will.
Specialized Design.
You gain one skill proficiency of your choice.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
Shifting body
- You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned and you have resistance to poison damage.
- You don't need breathe.
- You must find a external source of magic so that you can keep your body in peak performance. This can be in the form of asking someone for a spell slot of magic, or draining a charge from a magic item. Your need for energy is subsided for days equal to 2x the spells level.
- You are immune to non magical diseases effecting most organic creatures.
- You can go up to 3 days without sleep.
- You can regain your ability to transform by doing a short rest
Vehicular hinderance
While in your transformed state:
- You are unable to consume material, use spells or items that have a somatic component, or use your appendages
- You are unable to transform while restrained or unconscious
- You come out of your transformation if made unconscious, or reduced to zero hit points while in enough room to do so
Ability Score Increase
Your Con score increases by 2, and Choose any other +1
Age
A typical warforged is between two and thirty years old. The maximum warforged lifespan remains a mystery; so far, warforged have shown no signs of deterioration due to age. You are immune to magical aging effects.
Size

Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Transformer land type 1
This change transforms your body into a small 4 wheeled chariot of some design(1-3 wheels also acceptable). The form you take is built for speed and ruff terrain, but not made to accommodate a passenger, only your gear and small packages around 1ft in length.
Speedster
While transformed:
- Your speed increases by an additional 25ft.
- You ignore difficult terrain for Rubble, undergrowth, shallow bogs of less than 5in, dense forests, and ice-covered ground.
Small chasey
While transformed, your size is considered small. Additionally, enemy's have a -1 to hit you and you have a +2 to dex saves
Transformer land type 2
This version is built for carrying a few personnel or a moderate amount of medium sized supplies.
Usually these variety transported weapons and ammo into the battle field, carry an Injured personnel, or persons to certain areas(either 2 creatures of short demeaner or 1 medium sized creature).
If you are carrying creatures in this form, all creatures(including you) must make a dex save or fall prone, when making large swinging movements that would upset your center of weight.
Your area on that you carry creatures or objects while transformed is up to 3' by 1'3"
Heavy carrier
Your body is built to support this type of work, while transformed:
- You are able to carry an amount of weight, equal to your carry capacity plus an additional half.
- You ignore difficult terrain for Rubble, undergrowth, dense forests.
- You cannot carry loose material or fluids unless you have supplies that could allow you to, ie. buckets or tarp.
- You gain an additional 5ft of movement.
Trucker
You gain 5ft while transformed.
Transformer sea type 1
Your body is water resistant, and comes with additional buoyancy features to support your metal body. These usually take the form of a narrow boat.
Your form is intended for speed along the surface of water, and would not support additional weight outside your normal carry capacity.
Water skipper
While in this form:
- Your swim speed increases by 25ft
- You loose your speed benefit if you are dragging creatures or objects that are small or larger
- Your equipment does not gain the benefits of water proofing, if submerged in water
Transformer sea type 2
This transformation allows you to easily maneuver and travel under water.
Your shape looks like a sphere like submersible pod, and your field of vison changes to dome like vision, allowing you to see above and below, but not behind.
Patrolling the deeps
You have 25ft of dark vision.
While transformed:
- Carry capacity applies to this form for creatures and objects
- Your form has a grasping device to carry objects or creatures underneath you, and a separate 1ft long claw that you can extend in front
- Your body has a container for your equipment while transformed to keep dry, this goes away when you come out of your transformation
- Your body is well suited to high pressure environments
Transformer war type 1
This form takes on the the appearance of a stationary turret, meant for defending or holding positions at range. Ones with this transformation were often put on the front lines, or were put in sentry towers for their accuracy.
Sharp shot
In order to use your sentry mode, you must have some sort of ranged weapon that has the ranged attack and ammunition properties. Items include bows, crossbows, rods. The weapon can be mundane or magical. This does not include items that can be thrown.
While transformed:
- Your speed becomes 0.
- All ranged attacks use Dc saves instead of their usual attack. Mundane ranged weapons use Dex saves, which equals 8 + proficiency bonus + Dex mod. Magical attacks use the same method with the casters respected stat and modifiers.
- You do not gain increased range to your attacks.
- To change what weapon you are using in this mode, requires a action to perform.
- You ignore loading properties
- You become half your size rounded down
