Homebrew Awakened Elk Species Details
An elk which has been awakened by either powerful forces or by the awaken spell
Awakened Elk Traits
Your Awakened Elk character has some qualities in common with elk and some that are unique to awakened animals.Ability Score Increase
As an elk, your strength increases by 2, and you gain a +1 to either intelligence or wisdom due to your awakened nature.
Awakened Casting
You do not require hands to perform the somatic components of spells, however you must perform some sort of equivalent bodily movement in it's place.
Cervus Arsenal
You gain access to 2 types of natural attacks at your disposal:
- Ram. Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: (1d6 + STR) bludgeoning damage.
- Hooves. Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 ft., one prone creature. Hit: (2d4 + STR) bludgeoning damage.
Age
Elk normally live between 10 and 13 years, however the nature of your awakening could extend this further.
Alignment
Awakened beings tend to have a personality which mixes between their natural disposition and the wishes of that which awakened them.
Size
Elk tend to stand anywhere between 4-5 feet when standing on all fours.
Cervidae Speed
Your elk body is perfectly designed for speed and distance running
Charge
If the elk moves at least 20 ft. straight toward a target and then hits it with a ram attack on the same turn, the target takes an extra 7 (2d6) damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common, The language of that which awakened you, and one extra language of your choice.
