Homebrew Boar-men (Porcine) Species Details

The origin of the Porcine race has been lost to time.  It is unknown if they came about through natural evolution or were the creation of some dark magician from eons past.  They tend to keep to dense woodlands or forest swamplands, as these provide dense cover, and plenty of food options.  Little is known about them in the outside world, as encounters with outside creatures are few and far between.

Corpulent

Porcine can vary greatly in hair and skin tones, including browns, blacks, pinks, or grayish pigmentations.  Sloping foreheads, a snout, jutting jaws, prominent tusks, and rotund builds make their pig heritage plain for all to see. Porcine stand between 4' 6" and 6' 6" feet tall and usually weigh between 200 and 350 pounds.  They feature unique hand and feet configurations, having 2 large fingers and 2 thumbs (one on either side of the hand), and 2 larger hoof-like toes in front with 2 smaller toes positioned underneath the foot itself.

Lone Wanderers

Porcine are most often found alone, as solitary creatures, usually adventuring out into the world on their own.

Porcine usually have names that remind them of food, eating or foraging, or are descriptive of a common pig behavior.

Male Porcine Names: Loin, Shank, Grunter, Meaty, Slop, Snorts

Female Porcine Names: Truffle, Weaner, Pinky, Succulent, Muddy

A RARE SIGHT

Though Porcine have been known to venture out of the forests into the world, they are very rarely seen, and most regard them as pure myth.

Powerful Build

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Charge

If the Porcine moves at least 20 feet straight toward a target and then hits it with a tusk attack on the same turn, the target must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or take an extra 1d4 (+ STR bonus) slashing damage and be knocked prone.

Tusk

Porcine makes a goring attack with his facial tusks.

Hardy Forager

Porcine are willing to eat or drink nearly anything to sustain themselves.  They can always find food and drink.  Additionally, they are resistant to the effects of Poison and immune to disease.

Ability Score Increase

YourConstitution score increases by 2, and your Strength score increases by 1.

Age

 Porcine mature a little faster than humans, reaching adulthood around age 15. They tend to be long lived, and can reach an age around 150 years.

Alignment

Having little contact with the outside world, Porcine do not generally get mixed up in the politics of men or monsters.  They tend towards more neutral alignments.

Size

Porcine are somewhat bulkier than humans, tending to weigh between 200-350 lbs, and can range from 4' 6" to over 6' 6" feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Naturalist

You gain proficiency in the Survival skill.

Relentless Endurance

When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you can drop to 1 hit point instead. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

You can speak Common (but do not read or write it) and Porcine. Porcine is comprised of grunts and snorts. It has no script or written form.
