After the curse transformed this creature into a hideous Illithid, it has begun to loose its mind to its new form.  Even though the creature still fights in order to remain sane and not give into the Illithid hive mind, it still struggles to understand the feelings of less-alien beings. You have disadvantage on all Charisma ability checks in which you are not proficient in.

Due to the new form you have taken on, you now devour the brains of creatures to survive.  As an Action, you can use your tentacles to grapple 1 creature within 5 feet of you.  If you reduce a creature of Medium or smaller size to 0 hitpoints while grappled in this way, you can, as a reaction, devour their brain completely gaining temporary hit points equal to your character level + your proficiency bonus. In addition, you may receive the answer to one question that the consumed brain knew the answer to.  This creature does not need to share a language with you in order for you to recieve the answer to your question.

You must devour brains to survive.  once per long rest, you must devour the brain of any small or larger size creature.  If you do not devour brains in this way you gain one level of exhaustion.  If you are seen devouring a brain inside of the boundaries of a town, roll 1d20.  On a 15 or above, the townsfolk are terrified of you for the next 1d4 days.  They will not take part in any exchanges with your party if you are around and they are terrified. 

You may devour the brain of an already deceased creature for this purpose.

You no longer have use of any language that you knew in your previous transformation.  You can understand and speak these languages, but only telepathically to a willing creature within range.
