Homebrew Armorid Species Details

 

Born deep underground, many Armorids never see the sun. Only the bravest of Armorids dare to venture past the edge of their world, and they usually never make it back. They are treated as monsters by those who live above, and are slaughtered without hesitation. 

Protectors of the Earth

Despite the surface world's distaste for their kind, they are the ones who keep the very soil together. Without them, continents would crumble, and islands would fall into the sea. They carry out their duties as if tomorrow will be their end. 

These hard-working creatures serve the will of their god, Irum, to protect the world. Irum was once a powerful god, but has weakened greatly from the rise of evil in the world. The Armorids work to keep Irum alive, hoping that one day, his strength will return. 

 

Armorid Names

The Armorid, while having formal names, usually do not use them. They tend to greet each other by their rank, so most Armorid never learn the names of their comrades.

Male Names: Bulo, Clif, Dus, Lanche, Ound, Quarr, Rook, Tect, Tone

Female Names: Agma, Ava, Sula, Diment, Igne, Ine, Itch, Nin, Orph, Sa, Sil, Vaine

Childhood Names: Actite, Agmite, Emtone, Pebb, Stal

Armored Bodies

With your bulky bodies, you can easily protect yourself.

Cold Weakness

Due to your time spent underground, you haven't built up any natural resistance to colder temperatures. As a result, you cannot protect yourself from Cold damage.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Strength score increases by 1.

Age

Armorids live very long, and usually aren't in danger of dying early. 

Alignment

Armorids are almost always good, as they follow the alignment of their god. Very few Armorids end up corrupted by outside forces.

Size

Armorids are always shorter than the average human, but can sometimes weigh even more than them. 

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Lightning Resist

You have a natural resistance to Lightning.

Languages

Armorids usually speak Common, but they tend to pick up on other languages that they can hear echoing through the soil.
